Forth Region Scout Expedition to Holland 2011
Forth Region is organising a Scouting expedition to Holland in summer 2011. The main activity is the Haarlem Jamborette for 10 days from July 31 – Aug 9. The expedition will be 2 weeks in total around these dates, to include some of our own activities and visits while in Holland. Haarlem is near Amsterdam.
The Jamborette is a regular international event for 2500 Scouts from Holland and elsewhere. Scouts from Forth have attended in recent years and had a great time. See the Jamborette web site for more details http://www.haarlemjamborette.nl/2011/
You will want to go because you enjoy Scouting and camping, like trying new challenges and wish to experience a different culture, and want to make new friendships with Scouts from across Forth Region and in other countries.
To be eligible to participate you need to be age 12 –15* years old on the camp dates.
Other conditions of acceptance and inclusion are
i) Have your Scout Leader or Explorer Leader sign your application
ii) Remain active in your local Scouting while part of the contingent
iii) Take part in the expedition training weekends and events, dates to be advised, and in fund-raising events, to be agreed
iv) Show the expedition leadership team that you will be able to represent Forth Scouts by acting according to the Law and Promise
It is expected that all those eligible and wishing to attend can be included. If you are accepted there will be a deposit to pay this summer to cover Jamborette registration and travel bookings. Total cost before fund-raising will be about £630. Places will be confirmed after Family Information Nights later in June and after the closing date of 23rd June. To receive an application form and notification of any firther information by e-mail, please register your interest with Colin Robertson, Forth Region International Adviser. colinrobertson46@tiscali.co.uk.
